Support

Last updated: September 22, 2026

Assistly is operated by Zigzag Technologies. Support is by email and does not need a separate account.

1. Contact

Email support@tryassistly.com. We reply within two business days, usually sooner. From the desktop app you can also use Report an issue in the account menu, which sends us the app version and logs along with your note.

2. What to include

  • The email address on your Assistly account.
  • What you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
  • Your platform (macOS or Windows) and, if relevant, the call app you were on.
  • For Slack or calendar issues, the workspace or calendar account involved.

3. Slack integration

Connect and disconnect Slack from Integrations in the app, or from your account page on the web. Removing the bot from a channel deletes what it indexed from that channel. Questions about the integration, or requests to access or delete Slack data we hold about you, go to the same address above. The Slack integration is available on Enterprise plans for now and coming to everyone soon.

4. What the Slack app can access

The bot asks for the following permissions, and nothing else. It never acts as a person, and it never reads a channel it has not been added to.

  • Post messages (chat:write, chat:write.public): recaps to the channel you chose, and answers to questions. Posting to a public channel without an invite is what lets a recap land in the channel you picked without setup.
  • List channels and members (channels:read, groups:read, users:read): fill the channel picker, check who is in a channel before it can be searched, and show names instead of member IDs.
  • Read invited channels (channels:history, groups:history): only channels a member has added the bot to, to answer questions asked there and to make the channel searchable for its members. Content is kept for up to 180 days and deleted when the bot is removed.
  • Mentions and direct messages (app_mentions:read, im:history, im:write): answer when mentioned or messaged, and send a message to you or a teammate when you ask it to.
  • Slash command (commands): the /assistly command, which replies privately so only you see the answer.

5. Billing

Manage your plan from the account page. Billing questions and cancellations are covered in the Refund Policy, and you can email us about them too.

6. Privacy and data requests

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how long we keep it, and our sub-processors page lists the providers involved. To access, export, or delete your data, email support@tryassistly.com from the address on your account.
